PRESS RELEASE: Ambrosino Wishes Assemblywoman Pam Lampitt And Other South Jersey Women “Leaders” A Happy Anniversary

Camden County Republican Chairman continued to keep the pressure on Camden Democrats with regard to the Arthur Barclay situation issuing another press release today:

HADDON HEIGHTS – Exactly one year ago several Camden County Republican candidates called out Assemblywoman Pam Lampitt and other “South Jersey women leaders” for their silence on the issue of former Assemblyman Arthur Barclay’s arrest. At the time, Camden County Republicans suggested the reason for the silence was, “They were waiting to be told what to say by their political bosses.”

Camden County Republican Chairman Rich Ambrosino said, “Here we are, one year later and former Assemblyman Arthur Barclay still has a county job and Assemblywomen Pam Lampitt and Pat Egan Jones and Freeholders Carmen Rodriguez and Susan Shin-Angulo are still silent about one of their own beating his girlfriend and still having a county job. Perhaps we were right a year ago and they are waiting to be told what to say.”

“Three of these self-proclaimed ‘leaders’ are on the ballot.” Ambrosino explained, “Lampitt and Rodriguez are both running for re-election and Shin-Angulo is running for mayor in Cherry Hill. Frankly, in the era of #MeToo I don’t believe you get to call yourself a leader and remain silent on the issue of a confessed girlfriend beater still holding a county job.”

“In this case silence is not golden, but it does take discipline to do absolutely nothing for an entire year.” Ambrosino said, “I wish Assemblywoman Lampitt and her fellow self-proclaimed ‘leaders’ a very happy first anniversary of silence. It takes special people to remain silent and ignore the fact that a man who admitted to punching his girlfriend has been protected by your own political party for an entire year.”

PRESS RELEASE: Maybe Nancy Pelosi Can Straighten The Camden Democrats Out

Camden County Republican Chairman invited Nancy Pelosi to come to Camden County and join him in calling for Arthur Barclay to be fired from county government. Ambrosino’s press release follows:

HADDON HEIGHTS – Rich Ambrosino, Chairman of the Camden County Republicans, said today that he was hopeful that when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visits Atlantic City for the New Jersey Democratic State Committee’s Annual Conference later this week that she will stop in Camden County and straighten her Democrats out.

“Over the past year Camden County Democrats have had a string of bad actors, all of which they were silent about.” Ambrosino explained, “There was the Barclay arrest and resignation, followed with a Haddon Township Commissioner who crashed his car into another driver, left the scene and tired to blame his wife and let’s not forget the Gloucester Township School Board member who had to resign before his first meeting because his online biography was a lie and it was discovered he went to a party wearing blackface. Camden County machine Democrats were silent on every one of these episodes.”

“I have very little doubt that Speaker Pelosi will be happy to learn that the worst of the three Camden Democrat offenders, former Assemblyman Arthur Barclay who resigned after admitting to punching his girlfriend, is still on the county payroll,” Rich Ambrosino remarked. “I think after Speaker Pelosi learns that it is her party protecting Barclay she’s going to want answers. No doubt she’s going to want to know why four self-proclaimed ‘South Jersey women leaders,’ all machine Democrats, Assemblywomen Pam Lampitt and Pat Egan Jones and Freeholders Carmen Rodriguez and Susan Shin-Angulo are all supportive of Barclay still holding a county job.”

“Speaker Pelosi has been in Camden County before. She came here to raise money for Donald Norcross. Considering Speaker Pelosi is coming to South Jersey anyway, I cordially invite her to come back to Camden County and join me in calling on the machine Democrats to fire Arthur Barclay from county government, because, as I said before and I believe the Speaker will agree, no man willing to punch a woman should be working for this county’s government,” Ambrosino said.

Where’s Their Outrage Now?

Remember that time Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, Assemblywoman Patricia Egan Jones, and Camden County Freeholders Carmen Rodriguez and Susan Shin-Angulo were “outraged” when then U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin was “silent as allegations of sexual assault mount against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh?”

At the time, Camden County Republicans wanted to know why Lampitt, Egan Jones, Rodriguez and Shin-Angulo weren’t outraged over then Assemblyman Arthur Barclay admitting to punching his girlfriend.

Here we are more than a year later and these same women, Lampitt up for re-election, Rodriguez up for re-election and Shin-Angulo running for Mayor in Cherry Hill all remain silent that former Assemblyman Arthur Barclay, who admitted to punching his girlfriend during a domestic incident, still has a $60,000-a-year job with Camden County. (I didn’t mention Egan Jones because she’s decided not to run for re-election).

Over a year ago these South Jersey “women leaders” were outraged a man was silent about allegations of mistreatment of women. Today, they’re silent about a man who actually admitted to violence toward a woman who still has a job with the government run by the same political machine that helped them get elected. These women aren’t leaders – they’re hypocrites.

But, hypocrites or not, what will the “progressive” Democrats do? Will they vote for them anyway? Will the “progressive” Democrats in Camden County continue to be part of the problem and do as they’ve always done and vote for the machine Democrats on Election Day?

It’s time for the “progressive” Democrats to step up and show their outrage. Let’s see if they do.
