More LD1 Action, Downe Township Mayor Bob Campbell Announces For Assembly

While everyone is waiting to see if there will be a GOP primary for Senate in LD1, we suddenly have an announcement for Assembly.

Downe Township Mayor Robert “Bob” Campbell threw his hat in the ring via Facebook on Thanksgiving Eve.

Campbell won election to Downe Township Committee in 2012. In 2013 he wanted the opportunity to challenge Jeff Van Drew for the Senate seat in LD1 but lost the Republican primary to Susan Adelizzi Schmidt. Last year he ran for Assembly, but was denied the party line until the now infamous video of an apparently intoxicated Brian McDowell surfaced. That, of course, helped Campbell become Jim Sauro’s running mate.

Voters must think Campbell is doing a good job in Downe Township – he was unopposed in his re-election. Now if he can get LD1 voters to like him as much he could end up in Trenton.
