Haddon Township Commissioner Paul Dougherty, the guy with multiple municipal prosecutor positions who drove his car into the back of another car, left the scene, called the police chief and tried to blame his wife, and then admitted he was driving when police arrived at his house missed last night’s caucus meeting in Haddon Township.

You may recall Dougherty was a no show for the last Commissioners Meeting because he was “on vacation.”

Maybe Dougherty is on an extended vacation? Maybe he’s simply hiding from Township residents? Either way, I’m fairly certain commissioners in Haddon Township receive some sort of stipend for serving their community. Perhaps Township residents should demand he not be paid that stipend since he’s obviously not performing his duties as a commissioner.

As best we can tell no court date has been announced for the commissioner’s traffic incident, but we promised to stay on top of this story, and we will. We’ll update you as we learn more.
