Another Issue In Gloucester Twp: That Time A Guy Who Was Recently Elected To A School Board (Allegedly) Wore Blackface
/As if Gloucester Township doesn’t have enough problems, a failed EMS, a township communications director who got there by way of being an Assistant Store Manager at Michael Kors in the Deptford Mall and questions about whether or not one of the newly elected members of the school board actually lived in the township at the time of his election.
Now, it turns out Brian Reagan, the new school board member who likely did not actually reside in Gloucester Township at the time he was elected, allegedly once wore blackface.
Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock knows white guys wearing blackface has been in the news a lot lately. There have been many, many calls for these men to resign. Recently Governor Phil Murphy and U.S. Senator Cory Booker called on Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to resign after a photo of Northam wearing blackface 35 years ago surfaced.
It is clear that the photo The Bob & Steve Show has obtained of Reagan (allegedly) in blackface is less than 35 years old given that according to voter registration records he was born in 1970. Also, according to voter registration records Reagan is a registered Democrat.
It’s a safe bet Reagan did not tell his school board running mates, Carolyn Grace and Anthony Marks, about the photo of him wearing blackface. Ms. Grace is a respected member of the community and a recipient of the 2019 Camden County Freedom Medal. I’m fairly certain she would have an issue with one of her running mates having worn blackface. Mr. Marks is a respected businessman and runs Marksmen Landscaping, a company that also happens to perform snow removal for Gloucester Township. I would doubt Marks wants to be associated with one who has worn blackface in the past.
I’m sure we will have more on this story, but for now let’s just sit back and wait to see how long it takes folks like Governor Murphy, Senator Booker and Reagan’s running mates to call on him to resign. While we wait here’s a side-by-side comparison of Reagan’s (alleged) blackface photo and his campaign headshot for you to decide:
