Ocean County Republican Chairman Frank Holman endorsed Congressman Jeff Van Drew today. The campaign’s press release follows:

“The Ocean County GOP has, and always will continue to pride itself on our traditions and our successes. We respect the screening process that has been followed for years and our official county line will still be awarded at our annual nominating convention.” stated Chairman Frank Holman. “I did not take the decision to issue this endorsement lightly. The President has endorsed Congressman Van Drew and I believe it is our duty to support our Republican President. I’m excited for the extremely rare opportunity to have the President visit South Jersey in support of Congressman Van Drew, and for that reason, I have decided to issue this endorsement ahead of both the meeting of our Screening Committee and our Convention.”

“I wholeheartedly believe that Congressman Van Drew is the best candidate to keep the Second Congressional District in Republican control. Congressman Van Drew has been a tireless fighter for his constituents first as a member of the New Jersey Legislature and now as a member of the United States House of Representatives,” added Chairman Holman. “His decision to join the Republican Party has been a long time coming. While Congressman Van Drew has continued his focus on serving his constituents, the Democrats have focused on a sham impeachment process. Congressman Van Drew recognized this and stood up to Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats in Congress to vote no on impeachment. I am excited to welcome Congressman Van Drew to the Republican Party and look forward to working hard to support his re-election.”

“I’d like to thank Chairman Holman for his support and his endorsement,” said Congressman Van Drew. “The Ocean County Republican Organization has long been recognized as one of the strongest political organizations in New Jersey and I look forward to earning their support at their nominating convention and winning re-election with their help in November.”
