We Have Our First GOP Primary For 2019!
/Please accept my apologies for the delayed post on this, but Bob and I were proud to take The Bob & Steve Show on the road to the Salvation Army in Vineland to help Steve Plevins out with the Thanksgiving Turkey Drive. We passed out nearly 200 Turkey dinners to folks who need the help. Former Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi helped out too.
Yesterday’s big political news in South Jersey was The Press of Atlantic City reporting that “Republican Atlantic County Freeholder Chairman Frank Formica and Ventnor Mayor Beth Maccagnano Holtzman will run for state Assembly next year.”
That was followed with more news out of Atlantic County via a Hurley in the Morning exclusive at 7:05 this morning that “Atlantic County Freeholder at Large John Risley and Somers Point City Councilman James Toto will be running for the New Jersey General Assembly in the fast approaching 2019 election.”
As the Chairman of the freeholder board Formica is known to the voters throughout the district. Risley, as a freeholder-at-large is likewise known by voters throughout the district.
Formica’s running mate, Maccagnano Holtzman and Risley’s running mate, Toto will have to work harder than the others to be as known to the voters as their respective running mates.
I have no doubt Toto will make that ground up quickly. Since dropping out of the congressional primary in CD2 he’s been seen everywhere. I guess all that activity was him gearing up for a run for assembly.
With how hard we know Toto works this could shape up to be an exciting primary to watch. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated on this race.
