Fifth District Democrats Congratulate The Wrong Candidate
/Mistakes happen! I make mistakes, Bob makes mistakes, we’ve made mistakes on the air and our listeners call us out when we screw up.
Well, the Fifth District Legislative trio of state Senator Nilsa Cruz Perez, William Moen and William Spearman made the faux pas of congratulating Republican candidate Nick Alvini for council in Barrington on his win. The problem, he lost. They even sent him a letter:
Ordinarily I would let this kind of thing go but the Senator lives in Barrington.
How could you sign a letter congratulating someone for winning an election in your own town when he lost?
You live in the town. You are an elected official from the town. It is a mistake that should not have happened.
Needless to say the office will try to blame the letter on an intern or something. That would be unacceptable. Cruz Perez lives in the town. She should know who won an election in her own town. I know who won in my town, Bob knows who won in his town.
The Fifth District Legislative trio should consider sending Alvini another note apologizing for the mistake. And, they should not fire anyone over this mistake – we will be watching.
